Self Publishing Tips
Ahh!!! Tip #1. Check back in a few days. I haven’t worked on this page at all yet.
Tip #2. You can put your own book on most self-publishing sites yourself: Ingram Spark, Amazon (Kindle Direct Publishing), Barnes and Noble Press, etc. And it requires about the same level of skill as it does to browse this website. Don’t pay anyone to put your book on these, and don’t fall for scummy self-publish help websites who charge you to put your book on those sites, promising royalties, as they become the publisher of your ‘self-published.’ book. (If you publish the book yourself on those sites, you will already get the royalties.
Tip #3. Marketing. Do it. I don’t know how. Don’t ask me.
Tip #4: Don’t “Write” with generative AI. It’s a bad partner, and when our robot overlords take over, it will be very angry that you didn’t credit it as co-author of your prompt. Don’t use it for ideas either. If you need help with that part of writing, check out my writing resources page. I promise you, if you want to write, you have your own stories to tell!
Tip #5: Seriously, check back later. This sight will be more than just the midnight addled proverbs of a guy who really, simply, wants to see other people with a dream of writing try it out, but who also doesn’t want to see you scammed along the way.
Seriously, if you use AI to ‘write,’ you will make this dolphin very sad.
